Halloween is just around the corner and, if you’re anything like our family, you are wanting to pack in ALL THE THINGS. We adore the holiday season in Arizona with the beautiful weather and exhaustive list of fun events. We wanted to give you an easy to read guide to find a way to celebrate with your kids (of all ages!). From now until the 31st, you can find tricks and treats, events both indoor and outdoor. We have highlighted the west valley events, but we know that with all the diverse happenings from west to east, we’ve included a more expansive guide.
WEST VALLEY – Ghosts & Goodies at Westgate City Center
Trick or treating, costume contests, and spooky activities make for a fun and ghoulish night at Westgate.
Howl-o-Ween at The Phoenix Zoo
October 25th and 26th
Zombies, witches, and ghouls have taken residence at the Phoenix Zoo! Activities are split between the “Merry” or the “Scary” – so you can choose accordingly by your child’s age. “Scary” is recommended for eight and up.
Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular at Talking Stick
October 25th and 26th
Trick or Treat amongst a field of festive hot air balloons in a safe environment fit for families. With over 20 balloons, a haunted trail, fireworks and balloon rides, it’s a unique way to celebrate the holiday.
Brick or Treat! at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center
The Month of October
The Halloween celebration at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Arizona in Tempe provides fun every October. Halloween mask and pumpkin building are the most popular activities amongst the various fall-themed events.
WEST VALLEY – Puppetworks Boo! A Halloween Spooktacular
Now Through October 26th
A theater show that takes place on the scariest street in down. Humorous and spooky shenanigans play out under a black light at the Peoria Center for Performing Arts.
Desert Ridge Pumpkin Patch
Now Through October 30th
The District Lawn hosts a pumpkin patch where you can sip on cider, take fall photos and find your perfect pumpkin. On October 20th, 26th and 27th from 2-4PM you can get a spot for complimentary face painting.
WEST VALLEY – Halloween Monster Bash
October 26th – 5-9PM
The City of Peoria hosts their annual Halloween bash featuring carnival games, costume parade, bounce houses, live music, and crafts. Admission is free if you bring a portion of canned food to donate to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.
Mountain View Precinct Halloween Fest
October 24th – 5:30-8:30PM
A neighborhood hosted event, this Halloween party features games, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating and an obstacle course.
Pioneer Village’s All Hallows Eve
Pioneer Village’s charming historic buildings get a spooky makeover for the weekend at their All Hallows Eve event. Ride a haunted trolley, enjoy food and music and grab a pumpkin in the patch.
Phoenix Parks and Rec puts on a Fall Festival with a costume contest, hayrides, a train, candy, games and more!
Children’s Museum Trick-or-Treat
A fun way to spend Halloween day! The Children’s Museum is offering a trick-or-treat party throughout the three floors of interactive exhibits. Children are encouraged to dress up and attend the “Monster Mash” dance party.
Great Arizona Puppet Theater
Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays in October
Great for the younger set (ages 2-8), the Great Arizona Puppet Theater is offering Halloween-themed performances that are more silly than scary.
Audubon Centers Enchanted Trail
October 25th and 26th, evening
Glowing lights transform the nature trail into a beautiful fall festival adventure for the whole family. Guests can trick or treat, see live animals in their habitat and make Halloween crafts.
The Strange Garden at Desert Botanical Garden
October 25th and 26th
Curious plants and enchanting creatures make their home in the Strange Garden of the Desert Botanical Garden. Children are encouraged to dress in costume and choose a pumpkin to take home with them.
Enchanted Pumpkin Garden
Now through October 27th
If whimsy over horror is more your cup of tea the Enchanted Pumpkin Garden of Carefree makes a wonderful afternoon. World-renowned artist Ray Villafane is known for his amazing creations of enchanted characters. Live pumpkin carvings and other activities take place on different event days so you can check their event calendar ahead of time.
WEST VALLEY – AZ Field Of Screams at Tolmachoff Farms
Now through October 31st
A haunted corn maze best suited for teens, children 10-15 need a parental chaperone, and little ones are encouraged not to attend. The pumpkin patch and other activities at Tolmachoff Farms are fun for the whole family!
October 25-31 – 6:30-9PM
One of our family’s personal favorites, Scottsdale’s McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park becomes a haunted park with a spooky train ride highlight. On various nights the park is also showing Halloween movies on the lawn and guests can trick or treat the park on Halloween night.
OdySea Fall Festival
Costume contests, music, games, inflatables, face painting, superhero meet-and-greets, trick or treating and so much more takes place each year at the Odysea Fall Festival at OdySea in the Desert.
